Job Location:  Elk Grove, IL – Position may require occasional travel to Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Salary:  $60-70,000/Annually

Job Description:  A key duty of forecast analysts is to recognize, follow, and analyze trends in the market. Forecast analysts will research historical data to map trends and determine how it will influence the business and prepare and present reports, charts, and tables detailing these market factors to company managers and executives to help inform marketing and production strategy decisions.

In addition, forecast analysts must also routinely examine their own methodologies to find ways of improving predictive accuracy. The forecast analyst role requires familiarity with finance documentation and database software.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drive.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.
  • Utilize the global data synchronization data network to set up products with trading partners.
  • Publish weekly customer dashboards with analysis.
  • Provide weekly, inventory updates compared to current open orders.
  • Provide weekly, forecast to actual orders to Sales Team and discuss variances to forecast.
  • Pull Sales and Inventory data from customer portals for reporting purposes.
  • Generate weekly transfers of product going into consignment warehouses as well as reconcile the consignment inventory.
  • Update available product inventory on customers websites.
  • Provide weekly updates of major customers to Executive team.
  • Facilitate weekly financial update meetings with FNA Management team.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or FNA Management

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced Excel data manipulation and analysis skills.
  • Strong computer literacy is essential, particularly across all Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong Math and English competency.
  • Consumer products experience.
  • The ability to explain complex concepts and problems in simple terms, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to demonstrate conceptual, innovative thinking in forecasting and workforce planning methods and techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop strong internal relationships and interact at all levels.
  • Ability to create reports with high visual impact Self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Experience with tool and equipment categories extremely helpful.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with SAGE/MAS500 or SAP.
  • Ability and desire to multi-task.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred with a business, economics, or mathematics emphasis.
